Subway owes me at least two sandwiches
Last year, I traveled a lot for work. I drove six hours back and forth through south California. Alas, for convenience, I ate out a bit out more often that I wanted, and the place I frequented more was Subway.
It all started when I stopped for at a gas station in Salton Lake that had 8 restaurants on it, and somehow Subway stood out to me - my wife says it’s because I watched the movie Friendship, and after 11 “Subs of the Day” (about $122), I decided to buy gift cards as a Christmas present for my friends and coworkers, ONLY because of another promotion that the franchise was running, called “Merry Giftmas”, where you’d get a free sandwich for every $50 worth of gifcards. It all seemed legit, and I un-pocketed $140 and then $105, on them giftcards.
The problem.
The free sandwiches are not redeemable through the app. Instead the free subs are printed as an inconspicuous barcode in your receipt.
The first location did not gave me a receipt, and it was rather sneaky about it - their excuse was that the printer was broken. I returned two weeks later and they could not print the barcode. See the receipt below. Further, I do not recall tipping them for the giftcards, which amounts $22!?
Both locations just struggled turning over the gift cards, it was a lengthy and awkward experience.

I have tried to reach out to someone from the company to help me through this but all I get is an AI chatbot, and a ticket complain/issue form, where this input has been clearly misinterpreted.
